Your Family and Diabetes

Thank you for visiting my website Your Family and Diabetes.

My hope is that I may be able to provide you with the information and support that will enable you and any members of your family cope with diabetes.

Diabetes has affected my family for three generations. The sad thing is, our family is not unique. There are many families who have one or more members suffering from this disease. It affects not just the person who suffers from diabetes, it affected the whole family.

There are so many cases of diabetes being diagnosed that some feel it is almost becoming an epidemic. Unlike other diseases, in most cases, diabetes can be avoided.

We must be educated to what causes diabetes and how to avoid developing this condition. There are some inherited factors involved but much of it can be attributed to our lifestyle.

We must be alert to the symptoms of diabetes. Most of us are familiar with the usual signs but we may not know about the unusual signs of diabetes. If we are to protect our family, it is important that we are able to identify these signs.

If caught early, many of the complications can be avoided.

The guidelines for managing our diabetes is constantly being updated and made more sensitive. Research is also being done with the use of herbs and other forms of alternate medicine.

Being diagnosed with diabetes is devastating for anyone, young or old. It means major life changes for that person as well as the rest of the family.

I would like to stress that this website, Your Family and Diabetes is not meant to diagnose any condition. It does not recommend any forms or types of treatments. Please read my Disclaimer.
